Joachim Wissler, born in 1963, grew up on a farm in the Swabian Alb and completed his training as a cook in the Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn. After a variety of positions in the Badner Land region, he received his first Michelin Star as Chef de Cuisine in the Schloss Reinhartshausen in Erbach im Rheingau in 1995.

In the year 2000 Wissler moved to the restaurant Vendôme at the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, where he already received his first Michelin star after one year, the second in 2002 and the third star in 2004.
In 2001 “Der Feinschmecker” magazine voted the Vendôme “Restaurant of the Year”. In 2004 the Gault Millau and in 2014 “Der Feinschmecker” voted Joachim Wissler “Cook of the Year”. In 2010 he was the first German chef to ever receive the Spanish "Lo Mejor de la Gastronomia" award for international cooks in Alicante. In the German survey by the gourmet portal "Restaurant-Ranglisten" in the years 2012 and 2015, the best 100 cooks in Germany voted Joachim Wissler "Cook of Cooks". He is a member of the German cooking elite and is currently ranked 35th in the world ranking “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”.
